Welcome to
Blue Sky Dahlias
I’m so glad you’re here! I have been serving my Whatcom County community since 2018 with all things floral. I grow outside in the field with the seasons in Ferndale, WA. I use integrated pest management instead of chemicals. I adhere to strict sanitation guidelines, cull aggressively and am inspected yearly by the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my dahlias and heirloom chrysanthemums!
FAQs for our Dahlia Tubers and Cuttings
What are your shipping restrictions?
We are inspected and certified every year by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. This enables us to not only be sure we have a healthy dahlia and mum crop but we are also able to ship tubers and cuttings across state lines. Sorry, at this time we are unable to ship internationally.
Shipping will begin end of April for tubers and cuttings. Sorry, at this time we are unable to accommodate early shipping.
Do you have a sanitation practice?
Yes! We believe strongly in sanitation practices for our crops. While disease and virus happens we do our best to mitigate the spread. We cull plants if they begin to show signs of virus or failure to thrive. During cutting, disbudding, digging and dividing we use a 10% bleach solution on our tools.
New plants are placed in an isolation field and introduced to the existing field after we can observe the plant for a full year.
Do you have a return policy?
If you receive a blind or broken tuber in the mail please contact us by email Joann@blueskydahlias.com within 3 days so we can replace your tuber right away. If you receive a dahlia that is a different variety than the one you paid for please send us a picture of the bloom to the email address above and we can do a credit for future purchase or refund.
We are not responsible for storage issues once the tuber is received or for failure during the growing process. We are happy to help with any advice or troubleshooting you may need to get the best growing season possible.
Anything else I should know before purchase?
For those of you that follow me on social media you know that my tubers can grow HUGE! Not all of them do but some are as large as my forearm. These tubers have to be cut before storage. They are then air dried for at least 24 hours to “scab” over. These tubers are still healthy and viable plants, they have just been cut to a more manageable size.
